The DarkSky Preserve at Manitoulin Eco Park (known as Gordon's Park) is nestled in a hardwood forest, and visitors may choose to stay in large forest camping sites or the stargazing campground located in the Dark Sky Preserve. The Preserve has a communal area in an open field that is great for stargazing and has 360-degree sky viewing.
Located in Tehkummah on Manitoulin Island, Gordon’s Park was Canada's first Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) designated commercial Dark Sky Preserve. Visitors to the eco-park, located 13 minutes’ drive from the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry Dock in South Baymouth and 35 minutes from Little Current, can marvel at shimmering stars in constellations in vivid glow. On the best nights, visitors get to see exceptional dark skies showing 7.5+ magnitude stars.

This is our own red-light district providing you with optimum views.
Camping here means that only red/amber lights are used and campfires are only allowed at the community pit at the DarkSky entrance.
Look for sites beginning with "DS" to choose from tent campsites, trailer sites, the popular Stargazing Cabin and the Milky Way Bunkie.

All our edutainment (educational & entertaining) events are open to the public whether they stay overnight at Manitoulin Eco Park camp sites or just drop in for the most spectacular Dark Sky show on the island, if not Ontario.
